Tom De Vita was born and raised in Queens, New York. He worked as an assistant to the late Dan Christensen while attending St. John's University for his Bachelors of Fine Art degree.

After graduating in 1993, he relocated to South Beach, Florida. Tom has produced paintings and murals for many of South Florida's more prestigious businesses and residences, including the Van Dyke Cafe and the Miami Children's Hospital.

In 2009, Tom received his Master of Fine Arts from Miami International University of Art & Design, with a full-paid tuition grant and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Currently, he is a full-time Professor at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, teaching painting, drawing, design, and portfolio. He also taught as an adjunct professor for Barry University, Broward College, Miami International University of Art & Design and Digital Media Arts College.
